Terms of Use
This page sets out the terms that apply when you use the SignalLock software and the signallock.app website. By downloading, installing, or using SignalLock you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the software.
1. Service Provider
- Name: Muhammet Şafak
- Email: info@muhammetsafak.com.tr
- Country: Türkiye
2. License
SignalLock is free software released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0). The source code is public on GitHub, and GPL-3.0 grants you the rights to run, study, modify, and redistribute the software. The full scope and conditions of those rights are defined in the license text; in case of conflict, the GPL-3.0 text prevails over this section.
In summary, GPL-3.0 obliges you to:
- Distribute any modified version under GPL-3.0 as well, together with its source code.
- Preserve copyright notices and the license text.
- State the changes you made.
The one element the license does not cover is brand identity: the SignalLock name, logo, and brand elements belong to the copyright holder, and permission is required to present a derivative work under the SignalLock name or in a way that implies endorsement by this project.
3. Acceptable Use
Use SignalLock only on your own device and with your own consent. You may NOT use the software to:
- Install on third-party devices without consent
- Conduct attacks, malicious access, or surveillance
- Lock other users without the owner’s consent
- Abuse Bluetooth infrastructure or other devices
Liability for any use that violates these terms rests entirely with the user.
4. Warranty Disclaimer
SignalLock is provided “as is” and “as available.” The developer makes no warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The software is not guaranteed to be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all Bluetooth hardware. This is consistent with the warranty disclaimer in GPL-3.0 Section 15.
SignalLock is a complementary security tool; it does not replace fundamental security measures such as device encryption, lock-screen passwords, or organizational security policies. Do not rely on it as a sole security control in sensitive scenarios.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for any damages — including loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages — arising from the use of or inability to use SignalLock. This limitation applies even if the developer has been advised of the possibility of such damages, and is consistent with GPL-3.0 Section 16.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability; in those cases the developer’s liability is limited to the minimum permitted by applicable law.
6. Third-Party Components
While running, SignalLock uses open-source components provided by the operating system (e.g., the macOS Swift Standard Library, .NET runtime libraries, BlueZ on Linux). Those components are governed by their own licenses and fall outside the scope of these Terms.
7. Updates
The developer may update the software from time to time. Updates may also require changes to these Terms. Existing users will be notified of material changes through reasonable means; in any case the current version is published at signallock.app.
8. Termination
Your rights under GPL-3.0 terminate if you violate its conditions, as set out in Section 8 of that license. If you violate the brand-use limitations in Section 2 of these Terms, that permission is revoked automatically. The developer reserves the right to discontinue distribution or website services, in part or in whole, without liability.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye. The Istanbul Courts and Enforcement Offices have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the software. For consumers in the EU, mandatory rights granted by the consumer protection law of their country of residence are reserved.
10. Contact

11. Entirety
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the developer regarding the use of SignalLock, without prejudice to the GPL-3.0 license that applies to the software itself. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
